Lesson 182: I will be still an instant and go home.

W-pI.182.1. This world you seem to live in is not home to you. 2 And somewhere in your mind you know that this is true. 3 A memory of home keeps haunting you, as if there were a place that called you to return, although you do not recognize the voice, nor what it is the voice reminds you of. 4 Yet still you feel an alien here, from somewhere all unknown. 5 Nothing so definite that you could say with certainty you are an exile here. 6 Just a persistent feeling, sometimes not more than a tiny throb, at other times hardly remembered, actively dismissed, but surely to return to mind again.

Explained: This world is not our home, for we belong in Oneness not separateness. As we are the being of Perfect Love not the body born to die. For some this feeling of being in a place that is alien to them is constant, for others, it is fleeting and comes and goes at opportune times. When you feel that you do not fit in it is because you are being something that you are not. However, the more of the truth of love you remember the better your home in time shall become. As what is within is seen without. And until you awaken you will be seemingly away from your Home You share with God.

W-pI.182.2. No one but knows whereof we speak. 2 Yet some try to put by their suffering in games they play to occupy their time, and keep their sadness from them. 3 Others will deny that they are sad, and do not recognize their tears at all. 4 Still others will maintain that what we speak of is illusion, not to be considered more than but a dream. 5 Yet who, in simple honesty, without defensiveness and self-deception, would deny he understands the words we speak?

Explained: When it says 'No one but knows whereof we speak.' This means that you must know the truth of wholeness to know what Jesus is telling you. And when you know the truth of Oneness you know that there is only One of us here.

You see, you cannot know truth when you believe the separate mind to be your home. A way people play games to keep their sadness from them is to overwork, addictions, socializing, etc. all things the ego loves you to do so that you do not be still and look within for the truth of Oneness is inside. Notice how the ego deems those that are busy as being popular. Do not buy into the ego labels for they are simply not true. My greatest gains came when I was hidden from the world and it seemed not one wanted to be my friend. Judge not what you move through but truly forgive it all and you will truly heal, no matter what. 

To recognize not your tears is to blame another for the sadness you feel. For example, if you feel taken advantage of by your partner, this can be traced deep within to you taking advantage of God. The cause is always within but the ego loves to blame another, which maintains the belief in separation (the true cause of your suffering). You do not understand what you say, for words are but symbols of symbols, twice removed. The first symbol is the idea of separation, the second symbol is the words you speak. This means that when you accuse someone of betraying you, the first symbol is the belief that you have betrayed God by choosing the ego over Him.

Only the ego could be defensive for to defend you must have opposites. When you are without defense, you will know the right mind that knows there is nothing to defend against, for the world of form might be true to the ego but it is not true in reality. Reality being Perfect Love. You cannot know your true Home when you are still caught up in the separate mind, for separation cannot recognize that which is whole.

W-pI.182.3. We speak today for everyone who walks this world, for he is not at home. 2 He goes uncertainly about in endless search, seeking in darkness what he cannot find; not recognizing what it is he seeks. 3 A thousand homes he makes, yet none contents his restless mind. 4 He does not understand he builds in vain. 5 The home he seeks can not be made by him. 6 There is no substitute for Heaven. 7 All he ever made was hell.

Explained: Jesus is confirming the truth of reincarnation here, where you make different homes in different lifetimes trying to find your way out of the dark and into the light. The world of form was born from the belief in sin. It is the hell you must wake from by undoing the dark veil of guilt across your mind that seeks the ways of suffering, separation, and specialness. And this is what you are undoing with The Treasure Map. Those layers you are being asked to clean from within remove the darkness the covers the truth of light, Perfect Love.

Whilst you continue to build upon the belief in differences you will build your home upon the sand that you can fall through. To build your home upon the rock of Perfect Love is to undo the ego-mind to find the right mind that knows of Oneness, not separateness. You cannot make another Heaven (Perfect Love) for if you could make that which is whole you would have woken to your true Self: the One that is perfect, peaceful and powerful. And left the ego and its nightmare of sin behind.

W-pI.182.4. Perhaps you think it is your childhood home that you would find again. 2 The childhood of your body, and its place of shelter, are a memory now so distorted that you merely hold a picture of a past that never happened. 3 Yet there is a Child in you Who seeks His Father's house, and knows that He is alien here. 4 This childhood is eternal, with an innocence that will endure forever. 5 Where this Child shall go is holy ground. 6 It is His Holiness that lights up Heaven, and that brings to earth the pure reflection of the light above, wherein are earth and Heaven joined as one.

Explained: This world has not happened in truth. For it is the outward projection of an inward condition. There is only You here, for there is but the split-mind that dreams this dream. However, whilst you seem to be the body, you have two minds. The wrong mind of judgment and attack and the right mind of peace and love. The right mind is hidden within the subconscious mind, far away from the ego. It is the right mind that holds the key to the Child of God that You are and the truth of innocence that offers grace and not guilt. It is this mind that will lead you back to your true Home, the One You share with God. It is this Home you dream of, even if you seem to dream of your childhood or the seeming future and what it may offer. A dream is a dream no matter what colors you like to paint with.

W-pI.182.5. It is this Child in you your Father knows as His Own Son. 2 It is this Child Who knows His Father. 3 He desires to go home so deeply, so unceasingly, His voice cries unto you to let Him rest a while. 4 He does not ask for more than just a few instants of respite; just an interval in which He can return to breathe again the holy air that fills His Father's house. 5 You are His home as well. 6 He will return. 7 But give Him just a little time to be Himself, within the peace that is His home, resting in silence and in peace and love.

Explained: You are not the Son of God when you still know the separate self to be your home. This holds true for those on the spiritual path that believe the world of form to be a dream, yet they have not sufficiently undone the wrong mind of judgment and attack to go beyond thought to find the stillness of sameness that is hidden within. Whilst Jesus tells you that this world is a dream, it is to the awakened Mind. He is telling you the end gain. This is the playground of punishment to the ego-mind and true to those that believe they are sinful of separating from Source. This includes most of us that seem to be here!

Whilst still aligned to ego thinking you are not being the innocent Mind that is the extension of God’s Perfect Love and the Child You are in truth, that encompasses All. For there is only the split-mind dreaming. When you begin to wake, God seems to fill your mind. You become eager to find your way out of the illusion of time, for God is your true love. 

W-pI.182.6. This Child needs your protection. 2 He is far from home. 3 He is so little that He seems so easily shut out, His tiny voice so readily obscured, His call for help almost unheard amid the grating sounds and harsh and rasping noises of the world. 4 Yet does He know that in you still abides His sure protection. 5 You will fail Him not. 6 He will go home, and you along with Him.

Explained: When you begin to wake to the golden light of Perfect Love that has been concealed within you, you start to protect this light to ensure the flame is not covered by darkness which the ego will try to extinguish, by sending others to project darkness upon you. If this should happen to you, just continue to truly forgive it all, even if it seems you are treading water. Keep on going and you will soon become stronger than any shadow of suffering the ego could send your way. For you turn the shadows into steps when you truly forgive and this enables you to rise above the bloody battleground of ego-identification.

The more you begin to align with this right mind, the happier the dream promises to be. And when you find the truth of happiness within you then extend this outwards and you will be happy with your home in time. 

W-pI.182.7. This Child is your defenselessness; your strength. 2 He trusts in you. 3 He came because He knew you would not fail. 4 He whispers of His home unceasingly to you. 5 For He would bring you back with Him, that He Himself might stay, and not return again where He does not belong, and where He lives an outcast in a world of alien thoughts. 6 His patience has no limits. 7 He will wait until you hear His gentle Voice within you, calling you to let Him go in peace, along with you, to where He is at home and you with Him.

Explained: This speaks of the right mind that has access to the truth of Perfect Love and the innocent Mind that wills you to wake. Each seeming separate self in time must wake before we as the One Son of God can take our rightful place in eternity. No shadow of sin can be left in the mind in order to wake. Everything must be truly forgiven and forgotten. This right mind will whisper to you silently the way. And the way that has been granted is that of FAITH (Truforgiveness). Today you might follow and tomorrow you may not. It is not a straight path, as we each go backward and forward. Yet, this truth is wholly patient and calls us to follow.

W-pI.182.8. When you are still an instant, when the world recedes from you, when valueless ideas cease to have value in your restless mind, then will you hear His Voice. 2 So poignantly He calls to you that you will not resist Him longer. 3 In that instant He will take you to His home, and you will stay with Him in perfect stillness, silent and at peace, beyond all words, untouched by fear and doubt, sublimely certain that you are at home.

Explained: The restless mind refers to the ego-mind and the myriad of thoughts that run through it. Hidden deep within the darkness of the subconscious mind is the stillness of peace and love you seek to know. To be still is to not sit in the ego-mind, but to go within, deep within, underneath the darkness of the belief in sin, separation, and sickness. Here, you are untouched by fear for it is Home to the truth of Perfect Love. And that which is whole, fear cannot enter.

W-pI.182.9. Rest with Him frequently today. 2 For He was willing to become a little Child that you might learn of Him how strong is he who comes without defenses, offering only love's messages to those who think he is their enemy. 3 He holds the might of Heaven in His hand and calls them friend, and gives His strength to them, that they may see He would be Friend to them. 4 He asks that they protect Him, for His home is far away, and He will not return to it alone.

Explained: To rest in Him is to find the truth of Perfect Love within. To come without defences is to come in the truth of wholeness. To offer only love’s message is to truly forgive those you think are your enemy. Strength is found in the truth of completion. We must wake as One and the journey Home seems very far, for time drags on wearily. Yet, in truth, we must truly forgive the belief in separation to return to the Home we have never left: Oneness with God.

W-pI.182.10. Christ is reborn as but a little Child each time a wanderer would leave his home. 2 For he must learn that what he would protect is but this Child, Who comes defenseless and Who is protected by defenselessness. 3 Go home with Him from time to time today. 4 You are as much an alien here as He.

Explained: The light of Christ is within us all. Buried far away from the ego-mind. By ‘forgiving within,’ if you mentally go deep enough you will find the truth of this golden light, where there can be no defense for there is nothing to defend. As the belief in separation has gone from your mind. To go home with Him is to find the right mind. To do this often today is to continue to follow the FAITH of God and move from the wrong mind of judgment and attack to the right mind of peace and love, where the doorway to the Home you seek can be found. This world is not your Home, for you are eternal not temporary.

W-pI.182.11. Take time today to lay aside your shield which profits nothing, and lay down the spear and sword you raised against an enemy without existence. 2 Christ has called you friend and brother. 3 He has even come to ask your help in letting Him go home today, completed and completely. 4 He has come as does a little child, who must beseech his father for protection and for love. 5 He rules the universe, and yet He asks unceasingly that you return with Him, and take illusions as your gods no more.

Explained: The shields Jesus speaks of are the layers of darkness in the subconscious mind that keep the truth of Perfect Love from your senses. Your spears and swords are what you project outwards that reinforce the belief in separation. But separation is not true, it exists in the mind that dreams of death in duality. Your true Self seeks to wake from the nightmare of sin, guilt, and fear to be the Son of God he is in truth and he needs your help. You must let him go free and to do so, you must let every seeming self walk free, by truly forgiving the chains that seek to keep us together.

W-pI.182.12. You have not lost your innocence. 2 It is for this you yearn. 3 This is your heart's desire. 4 This is the voice you hear, and this the call which cannot be denied. 5 The holy Child remains with you. 6 His home is yours. 7 Today He gives you His defenselessness, and you accept it in exchange for all the toys of battle you have made. 8 And now the way is open, and the journey has an end in sight at last. 9 Be still an instant and go home with Him, and be at peace a while.

Explained: Your innocence has been concealed from your awareness. It is buried deep within the darkness of the subconscious mind. Underneath the layers of sin, guilt, and fear that keep the belief in separation as being a truth to you. To remember your innocence you must truly forgive every shadow of suffering you see in time, for the light has been concealed behind the darkness. Every treasure map you draw up offers a gift of grace, what will you reclaim today? The way to truth has been opened and it is up to you to follow. Whenever you make true the idea of separation you close the door on truth. Simply place your Truforgiveness upon the altar to God and you will rest in His comfort and grace. This is where the peace you seek can be found. Where the truth of sameness, Oneness, Perfect Love, God, resides.
